The Vanier Cup is the most prestigious championship trophy of men's Canadian Interuniversity Sport football. It bears the name of former Canadian Governor General Georges Vanier.
The Vanier Cup originated in 1965 as the Canadian College Bowl's championship trophy. The name of the event was altered to the Vanier Cup in 1982.

Since 1965 and every year on, the most valuable player of the Vanier Cup is presented the Memorial Trophy of Ted Morris, and since 1992, another player (more often than not, the most valuable defensive player if the 1st most valuable player is from the offence and vice-versa) is given the Award of Bruce Coulter.
