Mountain bike sport is comparatively young sport but massive set of fans and constant speeding up of popularity. The official level by mountain biking was gained a little more than twenty years ago. The sport passed a difficult way of separate new rules and principles development. Another set of problems was connected with creating of new specialized equipment. The first mountain World Cup took place in 1991.

Mountain biking sports began to develop in the late 60s - early 70s. At that time, there existed no such thing as a mountain bike. The first ancestors of contemporary mountain bikes were based on road cruisers, for instance, those produced by Schwinn. Roughly two decades later, the debut Mountain Bike World Championship took place in the United States.
