During such procedures the surgeons used skin grafts taken from the buttocks or thighs.

As for female-to-male transsexuals the mentioned hormone therapy lowers the voice and at the same time causes beard and body hair to grow. Be aware that it`s impossible to change male-to-female transsexual`s voice by taking estrogen.
According to the popular belief, a penis is amputated during one of the sex reassignment surgeries types (male-to-female one). However, it`s not true. The internal penile tissue is being removed, nevertheless the outer penis skin is left attached and then inserted inside out to the human body forming a new vagina. Of course, the testicles are removed, but at the same time the scrotal tissue is left attached for the further fashioning labia or vagina lips.
