Canadian major curling events - Scott Tournament of Hearts

Curling has the biggest popularity in Canada, but is intensively played in many other countries including Sweden, the United States of America, Scotland, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway and many others. Canadian major women?s curling event ? Scott Tournament of Hearts has decided Canadian team-representative at World Curling Championship for many years.

Scott Tournament of Hearts is a professional curling championship for Canadian women held annually and governed by the Canadian Curling Association. Its winner receives the right to represent Canadian country at the women's World Curling Championship, a yearly curling event that gather the best curlers from the entire world and where Canadian curlers have dominated at both the women's and men's championships since the inception of their curling team. From 1986 on, the winner of the event also returns to the next years' championship as "Team Canada". Scott Tournament of Hearts has changed its name several times over the years. It is previously known as the Diamond D Championship, the Canadian Ladies Curling Association Champ, and Macdonald Lassies Championship. The event has born its current name - Scott Tournament of Hearts since 1982.
