Generally speaking, rotary epilator device is a handheld gadget somewhat similar in its structure to electric razors. The major difference between two devices lies in the fact that the former have rows of tweezers on the rotary head while the latter have a cutting plate. Due to the presence of tweezers as essential components of the rotary epilator device, the hair is pulled out at the root. The major advantage of rotary epilators is the result that can last from a few days to a few weeks.
Besides, one can control the amount of hair being plucked. But for the sake of objectivity, the disadvantages of the rotary epilator device have to be touched upon. Firstly, it is hard to use it on short and fine hairs. They are hard for the tweezers to grasp. Therefore it is desirable the hair to be at least 3 mm long. Secondly, rotary epilator devices are quite uncomfortable to treat sensitive areas and back sides of legs.
Thirdly, the unpleasant feeling of pinching can only be avoided if the skin is pulled tight. And lastly, using rotary epilators can lead to ingrown hairs, skin irritation and rash bumps. The whole procedure is quite painful when you perform it for the first time. Over time the pain lessens. However, there is no clinical data that would prove that the effect of rotary epilation is permanent.
