Rhytidectomy Is One Of the Most Acclaimed And Popular Plastic Surgery

Added: 12/09/2005

The obverse plastic surgery has become very popular in recent years, but in the distant past the purpose of plastic surgeons was the elimination of the congenital defects of the face or those received after a trauma. From time to time attempts to perform an operation of face reconstruction was made, however, in those days, the medicine was not advanced enough so these attempts were mainly unsuccessful. More often these experiments were stopped which was sad.

In the days of the great Inquisition there was a legend that a certain monk whose face had been deformed in a childhood accident tried to return to his former self by trying to find the formula for the ideal beautiful face. He tried his own surgical techniques on the prisoners of the inquisition.

Although it was a legend, at the same time many modern women and men desperately wished to stop time, detain the arrival of old age and sagging, or just change their looks. One of the signs of aging skin is the sign of wrinkles, pleats on the skin of your face and neck, and a very fine area of wrinkles around the corners of the eyes and temples. These symptoms clearly show a sagging of the skin.

As the years go by, the skin loses its elasticity and become extended easily therefore, wrinkles and pleats show up in the places where there is the greatest amount of pressure and tension on the skin. In those cases, many plastic surgeons recommend that you have the rhytidectomy operation. Today, there are a set of conflicting opinions about operation, however, rhytidectomy is quite a widespread operation and the use of the last achievements of cosmetology and plastic surgery provide complete safety for carrying out this operation.

This operation is carried out with the techniques of a face lift operation where the excess skin becomes stretched and removed. The skin on certain parts of the face is stretched and small wrinkles can disappear absolutely, so the face will look better. The network of fine wrinkles in the area of the eyes and the temples remains during other operations which can be done at the same time with rhytidectomy or a bit later after the end of the rehabilitation period.

Small postoperative cicatrices, the size of a small grain of rice remain behind the ears, which are usually closer to the border of hair growth. Over time, they become practically invisible. However, one of the negative aspects of the rhytidectomy makes the skin on the face significantly thinner, therefore these operations are recommended to be done only 2-3 times.

Many women are interested in the question at what age can rhytidectomy is performed. The majority of plastic surgeons recommend to perform rhytidectomy over age 40 when all the other processes done for face reconstruction have lost their effect. After the operation, patients pass a rate of rehabilitation in just a matter of weeks and then, the patients go back to work. They also again lead an active life in society.

In the opinion of the majority of doctors and patients who have undergone rhytidectomy, the process reduces wrinkles 50 to 55 percent and you look younger by five to ten years. However, it is necessary to note that these results are very subjective and vary from patient to patient. The decision to carry out a similar operation is a very serious step, therefore, it is necessary to consult the attending doctor and find out and get over the possible side effects of the operation. Besides, it is necessary to approach very carefully the choice of clinic where the operation is to be performed and to consult the plastic surgeon about any question that you have.
