Retinol Sources And How They Can Benefit Us

From early childhood we are acquainted with the word vitamin. "It is rich in vitamins, dear, eat your cereal", - we heard our moms saying this each morning. When getting older we heard about diseases, the cause of which was a lack of vitamins. Hopefully once we start increasing our vitamin intake we won't be told that that is a bad thing. And now we would like to talk about retinol sources and vitamin as supplement in general.

People are almost fanatical about vitamins and vitamin A supplements. They want to have them in food they eat and in creams they apply on their bodies. But in fact, they do not usually get enough vitamins because they disregard high-quality meal. We eat artificial and genetically engineered food and get vitamins from pills. As a result, we often suffer from infectious diseases and need longer period for recovery. It is hard for us to concentrate on something and we get tired quickly. Let's tell you what vitamin actually is, where to get it and how it can change your life.

So, what is a vitamin and why it is so useful? The reason is that vitamins are active participators of all metabolic processes. It means that without them these processes will go very slowly or even stop. Vitamins usually are not produced by animal and human organisms and they have to get vitamins from plants. That is why your mom asked you to eat cereal and stop eating too many sausages.

Vitamin A, or so-called retinol, influences the process of growing, improves the condition of skin, and increases the strength of immunity, influencing eyesight and the processes of healing in organism. So, usually people, who lack vitamin A, suffer from skin diseases, frequent infectious diseases, rickets, they hardly see anything in darkness or suffer from nyctalopia, and they easily break their bones and have to wait for long while it is growing together. Children who do not get enough vitamin A suffer from stunted growth and curvature of the spine.

It is better for people, especially pregnant women and children, to get vitamin A from plant retinol sources and not from pills. Among retinol food sources there are mostly cod-liver oil, milk, cream, and cheese and egg yolk. But our organism can produce vitamin A from provitamin A. Ash berry, apricot, hips, black-currant, sea-buckthorn, water-melon, cabbage and carrot are retinol sources. Or better to say, they contain provitamin A from which our organism will produce retinol. And you should remember that the more intense is red and yellow, so-called fulvous, color of the plant, the more provitamin A it contains.

Today it is hard for many people to eat regularly and without haste. But do not forget about your health and even if you are in a hurry, eat some vitamin as supplements. Eat a carrot or several ash berries before going to work.

Also you should know that Vitamin A is quite steady and so you can get it even from boiled retinol sources. But surely the number of vitamins will be much less in such products. As for milk, eggs, cod-liver oil and other animal products, the quantity of vitamin A in these retinol sources depends on what the animal eats. If the food of the animals is rich in vitamin A then you will get rich retinol sources, otherwise your eating cheese and drinking cream will not be so effective.

So, we hope that from this moment you will pay more attention to what you eat and will prefer natural products to those which are very big and cheap, but absolutely useless for your health. Teach your children to be selective in terms of food and do not let them become members of the mass consumption society.
