Recurrent miscarriage is explained as three or more miscarriages of a fetus before twenty weeks of gestation (that is to say, earlier than the fetus can live outside the womb). Also described as spontaneous abortion, miscarriage takes place in 15-20% of every conception. Most all of miscarriages crop up within the first three months of pregnancy.
