PGD procedure is provided in two stages and is usually used for the couples who have greatest potential for inherited genetic diseases of their children. The first stage is vitro fertilization (IVF), which is used if the disorder is sex-linked to create embryos that are then tested for a particular genetic disorder or to determine their sex.
