If you are a zealous Christian-woman, have strong health and a healthy husband, it's rather hard to keep from having a lot of kids. According to the rules of the Christian church there can't be any means of Christian contraception, because it contradicts the religion's postulates. Though with time these rules are being transformed a bit and now in spite of dogmas we have some means that can be considered the ones of Catholic and Protestant contraception.

In a perfect world there would be some sort of middle ground when it comes to religion and contraception. Just having fun in bed should stand on its own merits and not be linked always to procreation. Unlike Christian religions, Islam and Judaism do not consider contraception to be a sin and let its followers use a lot of means that help to provide birth control using contraception methods, so religion and contraception are not the reverse things. Islam contraception is much more liberal in this respect if to compare it with Judaism for in the first marriage doesn't necessarily mean procreation.
