Essential Male Sterilization InformationAdded on 03/09/2006 to Articles Directory / Pregnancy / Contraception / Male sterilization
Male sterilization seems to go against the grain of common logic; that is - the male is SUPPOSED to want to impregnate his mate as often as possible to ensure longevity of the species! Male sterilization, or vasectomy, must not be mixed up with castration: vasectomy, in fact, does not involve exclusion of the testicles and it does not affect either the production of male hormones (largely testosterone) or the secretion of such hormones into the bloodstream. As a result sexual desire (a.k.a. libido) and the capability of having an erection and the orgasm with ejaculation are rarely affected.
