Popular Restaurants Owned By Stars

Many of our present day actors and actresses, and some singers who have become very popular, are now seeking to set their name in a new set of lights - that of the restaurant business. Much of that same hard work and energy are now being directed toward creating popular restaurants. A number of celebrities have already opened their restaurants, and people are nw enjoying the tastes and popularity of these new dining hotspots. Two of these restaurants owned by stars, are Chasen`s, and Spago, which you can find in Beverly Hills.

Everyone knows that show business is very profitable. Many young boys and girls want to be just like the popular modern and legendary actors, actresses, singers, producers. In other words, they want to be like the celebrities. This is because of their great popularity. Almost everyone collects posters with his or her favorite actors, actresses or singers.

Many movie and popular music stars have started their own business, after achieving success in the entertainment industry. In such a way a great number of various beer companies, perfume trademarks, cloth trademarks or popular restaurants owned by stars has appeared. This business is very profitable for celebrities, because it requires initial placement of funds and after that stars  only need to watch over the restaurants business affairs. Indeed, many people prefer restaurants owned by stars to the more common restaurants.

For 59 years Chasen`s had been the place where celebrities got together, it has always been a hangout of the stars. But in 1995, this restaurant was closed and replaced by a shopping center. Fortunately, this shopping center keeps a couple of booths of the former popular restaurant. Every person who visits the shopping center can have a place to rest and order famous chili in the cafe.

Just 2 years after the original Chasen`s had been closed, a new Chasen's was opened on Canon Drive as a new restaurant. Many popular stars were visitors of Chasen's during its 59 years of popularity, among them were well-known stars like: John Kennedy, Errol Flynn, Jack Benny, William Powell, Howard Hughes, Alan Ladd, Jackie Gleason, James Cagney, Gary Cooper, Groucho Marx, Barbara Stanwyck, Alfred Hitchcock and other representatives of the Hollywood elite. In the 1949, even a baseball team (Pittsburgh Pirates) was taken thee by Bing Crosby.

Some famous people had their personal parties in this one of the most popular restaurants. For example, a bachelor party of Jimmy Stewart was once held in this famous restaurant.

Chasen's was opened in 1935 by its owner Dave Chasen and was called Chasen's Southern Pit. The specialty of the house - chili, and it quickly became very popular with the Hollywood elite.

Another one of the most famous and popular restaurants is Spago. This restaurant is also located in Beverly Hills. This establishment is famous because even the President of the United States, Bill Clinton, with his "rock the vote" effort was held in Spago.

A couple of Hollywood stars met for the first time, and even had their first dates in Spago, This is where Tom Cruise met Penelopa Cruz. Universal Studio and Dreamworks had their pre-Oscar party in this one of the most popular restaurants in Hollywood.

Spago has one of the biggest wine collections to offer its visitors. The wide selection consists of: champagne, rose champagne, sparkling wines, German white wines, Austrian white wines, Italian white wines, American sauvignon blanc, American chardonnay, French white wines, white burgundy, red burgundy, French red wines, red Bordeaux, Italian red wines, Austrian red wines, and American cabernet sauvignon in Spago.

Thus, Spago and Chasen's used to be and still remains as two of the most famous and popular restaurants in Hollywood.
