The experiences of some consumers with permanent hair reduction

Added: 10/11/2005

Some customers have practised permanent hair reduction. There is still limited data about how much reduction of hair is typical and how often the hair reduction happens. As you know, flashlamp is also called IPL (intense pulsed light), ILS (intense light source), full spectrum, non-coherent, and broadband light. The primary differences between flashlamps and lasers used in hair removal are in the kind of light and size and the shape of the spot (beam).

Most customers think that "permanent hair reduction" means something that will last forever. Unluckily, that is not usually true as it is used in promotion. For example, a permanent wave on your hair isn't actually "permanent" and a permanent marker also isn't inevitably permanent. So, it is difficult to measure a new method of hair removal that claims to be a permanent method. Most people think that after some amount of time hair is, actually, very unlikely to return.

And that's why quite a few people recommended a specific definition of "permanent hair reduction". A manufacturer claims that their mechanism is permanent basing on the results after a 9-week testing. That is just stupid. Even waxing can last longer than this and it has been clinically proven that waxing is temporary.

As for the purpose of removing hair, the definition of hairfacts of the "permanent removal of hair" is able to live for a year after your last final removal of hair treatment without using any other method of removing hair. We should still keep in mind that even a year is not long enough to conclude the real permanence but the majority of clients would be very happy to have only one treatment per year.

The only existing method that is clinically proven to be a permanent hair reduction method is electrolysis. There are some lasers and flashlamps that have been able to attain permanent reduction of hair as described below. In case if you're looking for permanent hair removal, you have a number of imperfect variants. There is a number of different methods that have been developed.

These methods use energy of varying types, chemicals, or a special combination to aim the areas that control the hair growth. If you manage to permanently destroying such areas while sparing nearby tissue, you should be proud of yourself, as it is a difficult challenge. Doctors advise relying on a body of peer-reviewed scientific published evidence to make sure the method is effective.

As you know, IPL (also full spectrum light, low range infrared Full spectrum (non-coherent) light and low-range infrared radiation) are filtered to conduct a specified range of lengths of radiation waves. But, first of all, you must know all the quack claims of the permanent hair reduction and removal:

1) It's Painless or virtually painless.

When some consumers tolerate flashlamps without any pain necessary relief, it is an over promise to say that treatment will be completely painless for all consumers.

2) Permanent removal of hair or 100 percent permanent or just permanent.

Some clients practice permanent loss of treated hair over the period of treatment but some who have experimented and found out that many customers are not very good candidates and even an ideal candidate with very light skin and dark-dark hair does not necessarily respond to the treatment publish studies.

3) Guaranteed 0 percent re-growth of hair.
There is no clinical data published to validate this kind of over promise.

4) Beyond the laser.

This promotional term offers the fact that flashlamps are better than the laser treatment for customers but this is far from being truth.

There is one of many advantages of permanent hair reduction with flashlamp: it is useful for large areas such as backs or legs. Some methods allow you to remove or reduce hair only on small areas such as upper lip, eteberow areas. Here you can use it almost for every area you want.

There are major differences between the flashlamp hair removal and laser hair removal methods. And they are:

1). A type of used light.
As it was mentioned earlier, flash lamps don't use 1 wavelength of light the way as a laser does.
Flashlamps produce every wavelength of light in visible spectrum and a slight into the band of infrared radiation (can be up to about 1200 nm). Practitioners choose a cutoff filter to chunk out lesser wavelengths.

2).Size of the spot and its shape (also called beam)
Majority of flashlamps release a beam which covers more region than a laser does.
Also most flashlamps contain a rectangular mark instead of the round type that is usually standard for lasers.
