The parents of the famous singer met in college and were very fond of each other. Therefore, they decided to get married. Shelly, her mother, sang in a youth orchestra and Faust was a sergeant in the United States Army. Therefore, after the child was born, they lead a very active lifestyle and they were always traveling around the world. They would take their daughter with them.
Certainly, it was difficult for small Christina Aguilera. Because she moved a lot, she didn't get to have real friends like most people have. Shelly was touched when she saw her daughter sing childish sounds to her dolls and her teddy bears. Sometimes, Christina Aguilera held a loaf of bread and sang into it instead of a microphone.
Until she was five years old, Christina Aguilera spoke and sang in Spanish. But, this was not surprising because her father was a Spaniard and her mother was a Spanish interpreter. Therefore, Spanish was the language that Christina knew since her childhood.
Christina Aguilera participated in various talent shows as a young girl and was on many television and radio shows as a youth. It was the time to go to school and she did many talent shows at school. However, her classmates had an instant dislike for the young singer.
At eight years old, because she could sing very well, Christina Aguilera went on a national television show called Star Search. She passed all of the selection competitions. She even sang Whitney Houston's, The Greatest Love of All in the finals, but she took second place.
Christina received the invitation to test for songs to record on the soundtrack for Mulan. The studios needed Christina Aguilera to be able to reach the note of Mi on the octave scale. And she did it without a problem. She wrote the song, I want to run to you and within 48 hours she was in the studio recording that very song.
On June, 24th, 1998, Mulan premiered and the song Reflection became a top twenty song. Therefore, people got to know about Christina Aguilera and she did songs on television. The same week the record company RCA singed her to a record contract for Christina Aguilera albums and singles. That year the girl had been training with professional voice coaches, composers, authors, and producers. Christina Aguilera sold about one million copies of her album.
On June 22, 1999, there was the first solo video premiere from Christina Aguilera called Genie in a Bottle. It instantly went to the top of the music charts. The entire world found out about the musical talents of Christina Aguilera and her dreams came true. She became a world famous singer and received a Grammy. She also recorded an album in Spanish called MI Reflejo and A Christmas album. She even sang a duet with Doctor John. She is known as the voice of her generation.
