The history can be traced into not so far - the 19th century, to be exactly the end of the 19th century. Even today the technology of this item production seems to be unbelievable. It is difficult to realize that it is possible to save the sounds using hard practical material. The first steps were closely connected with vinyl usage start. But the early beginning took place in 1806 when Thomas Young recorded the voice on the wax drum while its rotation. But the way of its sounding back was still not discovered. Leon Scott (1857), Charles Cros (1877), Thomas Edison (1877) made a significant support into the development of music recording having created some first primitive devises for sounds recording.
The photogravure and telegraph inventions advanced and predetermined music records development. So the end of 19th century opened doors to new music era and completely changed singers' lives. The system of new kind of entirely new entertainment that had not been seen before appeared unexpectedly. At the same time it was a big step in business industry.
Thomas Edison who made one of the biggest contributions into the process aimed exceptionally goals: to create the valuable device that can help to record telephone talks, etc. His device provided possibility of recording playback sound. The prototypes of this devise we use every day.
1877 became the year of device (the machine that could realize voice recording and human's voice replying) patenting. The combination of work of this device operation ad diaphragm gave the chance to perform the first "professional" voice recording. The inventor used a special strip of paper covered with paraffin, which was placed under the stylus running. Voice caused vibration that left indentation on the paper.
Prehistory of music records emergence faced new problem while tending to use products in entertainment industry. At last a number of hard research works and innovations made it possible to have today's music industry. In 1902 the first gramophone company presented some disks (10-inch disks) lasting for four minutes each. The world heard new international voice of Enrico Caruso (1902). 1904 year brought popularity to album by Tchaikovsky. The disks "Nutcracker Suite" got its nick "album" because of its photograph album resemblance.
The music records passed long way of developing with big variety of shapes, different materials, formats, etc. At the present special place is occupied with vinyl souvenir records that serve a role of symbolic judgers of "good taste".
