Miss teen USA contest usually gathers about 51 delegates, one representing each state. It’s not a lot comparing to the number of contestants partaking in other well-known beauty pageants. For example, Miss Universe contest gathers participants from approximately 85 countries of the world.
Speaking about Miss teen USA contest, it’s important to pay attention to the requirements which should met by the girls desiring to participate in the pageant. Thus, they must be between 15 and 19 years of age by the 1st of September of the year they are going to compete in the national competition. It is worthy admitting that after applying for participation in the Miss teen USA contest the girl may also compete in the Miss USA beauty pageant. As a result, the winner of the Miss USA contest will then represent her own country (the USA) in the Miss Universe pageant. The delegates are allowed to compete more than once in the state (preliminary) competition. And simultaneous participation in the Miss USA ad Miss Universe beauty competitions is prohibited.
Delegates of the Miss teen USA contest are not required to have coaches. As a matter of fact, many girls who have won the contest didn’t have any special training; however, some participants still prefer working with an experienced person in order to get all the necessary tips and receive advice from this professional. At present, the confidence and experience needed to compete is often provided to the contestants by their state and national directors. They are known to be rather experienced in providing the efficient counsel about the Miss teen USA contest.
