Mesotherapy history was started in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor, a French physician. The invention was designed for pain management. But soon French practitioners noticed a lot of other useful properties of the procedure. Since that time mesotherapy has been used for treating hair loss, stretch marks, cellulite and wrinkles. The procedure is good at melting excessive body fat.
Mesotherapy history began in 1952 in Europe. Mesotherapy history was started by Dr Michel Pistor, a French physician. The procedure was initiated for pain management. In the following years of mesotherapy history the procedure was used for treating such medical conditions as fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, osteoarthritis and chronic pain. Some time later French practitioners discovered that the procedure could be used for eliminating such unwanted things as stretch marks, hair loss, acne, wrinkles and cellulite. They also found out that the technique can promote weight loss and may be used for skin firming and body sculpting. From the time of these discoveries a new era in mesotherapy history began.
Today, there are a lot of ways of reducing pain. As for oral medications, they have rather a significant disadvantage. They get into the bloodstream only after they pass liver and gastrointestinal tract. It reduces the amount of the medicine that actually reaches the treated area. Only a small portion of the medication that is designed to cure the knee, for instance, actually reaches the knee. So, a large part of medications is distributed throughout the body in the diluted form. By contrast, modern injections of mesotherapy are applied directly into the knee. The remedy is considered to be more effective as well as lasting longer.
Mesotherapy procedure is practiced all over the world including France, Belgium, the UK, Switzerland, the USA and some South African countries.
Mesotherapy procedure can be described in the following way. It is performed by microinjections of very small amounts of concentrated agents. They are injected into the skin for different depths and in different amounts depending on the diagnosis or anatomic area. The most common aim of the procedure is fat reduction. It is necessary to mention the fact that there is a huge number of formulations for performing the injections.
It is important to pay attention to such approaches as injection liposculpture. It is an American mesotherapy program aimed at body contouring. The program presupposes the combined use of exercise modification, diet as well as oral supplements. All of them act in concert in order to achieve the best cosmetic results. In this combination the role of the injection liposculpture is to accelerate lipolysis in the areas that are treated.
There are some groups of people who cannot be candidates for mesotherapy. They are pregnant women, insulin-dependent diabetics, those patients who have history of such conditions as recent cancer, stroke and blood clots. It is also necessary to mention those patients, who take multiple medications for the heart disease, cannot undergo mesotherapy.
The results of the procedure are traditionally measured in inches. As the fat is melted under the skin, approximately one pound of fat is lost every week. Mesotherapy procedure can be applied to waist, back, legs, arms and hips all in the same session. It is quite common for a typical patient to lose two sizes after ten treatments.
