Manufactured fibers enjoy a wide range of applications in industries. All kinds of synthetic fibers are used almost everywhere. Polyester, nylon and rayon are used in cars' tires to provide them with stronger cord, while such materials as lyocell, microfiber and spandex are very elastic and find their use in the production of clothing and sportswear.
Fabric weaving was known for many centuries but with manufactured fibers it has changed forever. Since the discovery of synthetic fiber, new materials for fiber productions are being constantly worked out and produced. Even today the number of manufactured fibers is so huge that it is hard to enumerate all of them.
Synthetic fibers have literally invaded all areas of our everyday life. You can even come across a manufactured fibers review, which describes new uses of old manufactured fibers and shows new elaborated material. Such words as acetate, acrylic and aramids entered the market and our lives. And that is only those starting with "A". But there are 25 more letters in the alphabet.
It's hard to imagine that cigarettes can be produced without acetate, because all the filters are made of this fiber. Manufactured fibers like polyester and rayon are very strong and durable. That is why they are widely used in component parts with intense use. High durability makes these synthetic materials suitable for industrial belts and hoses.
However, it is not only manufacturing that uses modern achievements in productions of manufactured fibers. The clothing sector is also very developed these days. Materials like acrylic are used for making great sweaters. New modification of acrylic fiber emerged lately. It allows for a greater range of uses and is much more durable than original fiber.
Nylon is a well known and widely used fiber. It can withstand stains, soil and can easily prevent static electricity. Nylon is used in production of very important safety nets for construction workers and sportsmen. Mixed with spandex fiber nylon has another use in a sport sector. This combination of materials is used for making different sorts of sportswear like athletic apparel or swimwear. Such sportswear is very elastic and durable. Spandex can be used by itself. Most of the surgical hoses that are used today are made of spandex fibers.
To further improve wonderful qualities of manufactured fibers they are often combined with natural fibers. The blending technique was used before the discovery of synthetic fibers but mixing manufactured fibers and natural fiber can bring amazing results. All the great qualities and a wonderful feeling of natural fiber together with durability of manufactured fibers make a great combination for a perfect fabric. And such blended fabrics made of different materials are very popular now.
High-tech area cannot make do without fibers. Very complicated devices that are used in medicine are made with these materials. The information super highway - the internet - won't work without fiber optics. Composites based on fabrics are used in production of each and every circuit board for any electronic device.
Other kinds of composites, which are lightweight but strong, find various uses in aeroplanes building and spacecraft technologies. Modern economy probably would not be able to function properly without fabric industry and manufactured fibers.
