The history of vegetarianism counts millions of years. Sure long ago vegetarian system had no such strict structure, rules and number of streams. Vegetarian reasons and motivations were also entirely different. It was nature and poor human?s choice that made our ancestors to step the way of vegetarianism. Most of tribes till the certain term of humanity development were gatherers, not hunters. The basis of their nutrition was presented with different plants, seeds, nuts, fruit and vegetables.
Pythagoras, Plato, Diogenes and Epicurus were ancient vegetarians who opened the tradition of vegetarianism for the West world. Some Greek thinkers believed that animals as human have souls and ability to reincarnate and nobody knew what or who would be their next embodiment. Others followed the health nutrition way. The rest supported vegetarianism because of non-aesthetic nature of animal food nutrition. However, historical facts prove that original classical vegetarianism appeared in

Present vegetarian culture has certain structure with some levels and subdivisions. According to existing classification there are some kinds of vegetarians.
The lacto-vegetarianism is one of the most popular vegetarian streams. The followers of these variant of vegetarianism eat almost everything except meat (even eggs and dairy). The second position takes lacto vegetarianism that excludes even egg?s consumption. Ovo vegetarianism representatives eat variety of product while the exception for them is meat and dairy. The strictest variant of vegetarianism is veganism that constantly stands under the strongest criticism. The reason is too strict and limited (as many people consider) list of available for them products. No animal products at all! No meat, no eggs, no dairy products, no honey and even no leather in use for real vegans!
Macrobiotic vegetarians are unique, very special macrobiotic vegetarian diet can be considered a variant of veganism. Macrobiotic products that are ?not forbidden? for macrobiotic vegetarians are whole grains and beans. Despite this strict rules some macrobiotic vegetarians allow themselves having some fish (but exactly no meat, eggs and dairy products). The main purposes of macrobiotic vegetarians are gaining the balance between nutrition perceived as ying and yang (positive and negative). The macrobiotic diet consists of ten levels. Each level gradually eliminates animal products. The last level presents mostly rice (even no fruit and vegetables).
