Collagen is the traditional material used by the patients. It is necessary to hold an allergic test because collagen is taken from animal sources. Collagen can be injected into the body of the lip in order to increase the color of the lips or into the lip edges in order to crisp the lines. It is possible to make both injections. The collagen has to be injected every several months.
Dermalogen is one of the newest products in the sphere of lip enhancement. In order to get high concentration of collagen, donor skin is applied. Studies show that collagen is non-allergic and lasts even longer than bovine collagen.
There are no serious lip enhancement risks. But it is possible to mention such side effects as pain after operation and swelling that appear after the operation. Everything depends on the technique of the operation and on how much your lips have been enhanced. As for swelling, it can last up to two weeks.
It is possible to have lip enhancement procedure alone. But traditionally it is performed in combination with some other cosmetic procedures.
