Japanese Makeup and the Art of the Geisha

Japan is a land of hara-kiri, the ninja and geishas. To tell more, it is a land of Japanese makeup and fish fugue. In the streets of modern Japanese cities among dark jackets and skirts with strict creases, it is still possible to see these splinters of ancient tradition - strange women in bright kimonos with white powder wax on faces and monumental hair dresses.

Geishas hasten to work! Men are waiting for them in small tea houses, at parties and presentations. Their clients are the rich Japanese, able to appreciate cultural traditions. To spend an hour with the geisha is considered prestigious for the Japanese, and for European men it is almost a limit of dreams. Can we turn in the geisha for one evening for our sweethearts? The task is not simple but you need to know some secrets...

Parents gave girls the beauty to become geishas. They never do that free of charge, certainly. Girls were bought by mums - the mistresses of houses of geishas, on the European concepts - that of the "souteneur". Girls had to return the money, which they had spent on training and the maintenance of schoolchild. Therefore, girls got in rigid hands and had a choice: to behave, as it is necessary or to be a bat because Mum did not want to lose money.

However, if the young geishas got into school for the future geishas it was possible not to worry about the present or future: there they will be fed, and given to drink, and given corresponding education. Girls learn to sing, dance, and spend tea ceremony, to play the instruments - on a drum and the Japanese flute. Girls had to play and sing easily and gracefully, constantly remembering about a super task - to be a dream of any Japanese man.

Certainly, the geisha is not real if she cannot correctly lead the tea ceremony, which is sacred for the Japanese, and deep to foreigners. Really, to sit on a floor and to meditate concerning beauty of the world drinking a cup of soap greenish liquid which besides tastes bitter, you should be born and brought up with this.

In general, the humility for geishas is a completely necessary thing. For example, when a young girl has to do a lot of work about the house, she should thank the kind "mummy" for it. In addition, the girl should meet the most important geisha from work even late at night and help her to be exposed, and prepared for sleep. Good geishas usually have enough work to do, including everyday orders and the planned solemn ceremonies in tea small houses for half-year forward, and even for one year.

First of all, girls are trained in art of Japanese makeup. Our morning attempts "to make the face" before work is the simple children's babble in comparison with Japanese makeup of geisha. Moreover, even 15-year-girls possessed these sacraments! Therefore, first the geisha greased the face with any miracle and extremely expensive cream (for example, a legendary medicine from nightingale litter), then she warmed up a tiny slice of powder wax in palms and rebred it in her skin. Then with a brush she accurately rendered the paste, which made the skin porcelain-white.

In the beginning of the last century, girls still used Japanese makeup under the name "the Chinese clay" which was prepared on the basis of lead. It was good, except for the fact that when the geisha with the greatest work washed the face from lead muck, her skin sadly drooped and screwed up the face. Now exists the special Japanese makeup for geishas which do not render harm to skin. However, it is not easy to wash it off.

Well, at the end of the process goes painting and decorating. The bright blush goes on cheeks to match the color of a kimono, ruthlessly covered lips turn into scarlet petals of a new mouth! It is strictly forbidden to cry, to sweat and to become covered with a nervous perspiration.
