Introduction To Karma Yoga Concept

Added: 03/13/2006

As you probably know the purpose of all the yogas is to inspire our whole life rather than separating our days into "spiritual" and "secular" zones. Karma yoga features and Karma yoga practice is very important for almost every one of us because the Karma yoga concept is effective in spiritualizing our life. Karma yoga also gives us the direction to spiritual freedom.

The Karma yoga concept is very complex. The main meaning of some passage is that to the uninformed the greatest reality is something like night; at the same time when trying to appreciate it - they see confusion and darkness. The Karma yoga concept states that the enlightened are fully conscious and able to observe reality. Moreover, the physical world of forms and names is clear as day to the unenlightened, but the other enlightened notice in it the darkness of night.

Karma yoga concept consists of work or action; particularly, karma yoga is the way of dedicated action, renouncing the consequences of our work as a spiritual contribution rather than hoarding the benefits for us.

Karma is both the result of action and the action itself. What we undergo nowadays is the result of our bad-created and karma-both good by our previous work. Karma yoga concept includes that it can snap the chain of effect and cause that we have created ourselves. We use the karma yoga sword to stop the chain reaction of effect and cause. With the help of disengaging the work process ego, and also by offering the consequences up to an upper power - whether to the Self within or personal God, in that way we stop the complete chain reaction.

Whether we understand it or not, most of us perform various actions all the time - since even thinking and sitting is action. Since the action is unavoidable, and being alive is an integral part, we have to redirect it into a way to God-understanding. Most of us conduce to any action with anticipation in our mind. In our jobs we work hard to get appreciation and respect from our colleagues, and the boss's promotions. We sweep our houses and try to keep them lovely with the expectations that our neighbors will appreciate it highly, or even that they will be downright envious. Most of us study hard in school to get high marks, with the hopes that our actions will lead us to a great future. Most of us cook an impressive meal with the anticipation that it will be received with praise and plaudits. Most of us wear nice clothes in anticipation of someone's appreciation. Thus, much of our lives are going just in anticipation of future consequences that we do it unconsciously, automatically. This, though, is a dangerous model. All these anticipation and expectations, from a spiritual viewpoint, are Trojan horses that will lead us to misery ultimately. Suffering is unavoidable, due to the fact that our desires and expectations are unappeasable and unending. We will live with dissatisfaction just because of the fact that our inspiration is to enlarge the ego and to gratify; instead of breaking the karma bonds, we are producing new chains.

It is all the same whether we are meditative, intellectual, or devotional by temperament, karma yoga practice and karma yoga features can easily combine with the other spiritual ways. Even those persons, who live a primarily contemplative life gain an advantage from karma yoga, and can get definite benefits from physical actions.

Thus, Karma yoga will be very useful for almost all people, because it gives us tools to get spiritual freedom.
