Interesting Events in Surgery HistorySurgery history originated in ancient times when the tools for operating were most likely flints that were sharpened and the other pieces and stones that could be sharpened. The surgery achieved some decent level as a science only around the eighteenth century and the science began to develop.
The surgery history can be named as the modern surgery with the starting of use of the antiseptics. It was discovered that the microbes cause the diseases and the inflammation. The surgeons began using the steam sterilization of the tools for operating, introduction of use of the rubber gloves to protect the hands of the surgeons from irritating and the use of anesthesia helped the surgery history start the new era. Most of these events and inventions happened in the nineteenth century.
The surgery history in the twentieth century continued surgery development and all the achievements of the surgery happened with the help of the use of modern technologies and new discoveries in medical science. The discovery and inventions of transfusion technologies made it possible to transfuse the blood if the patient needed that. The knowledge about the types of the blood group made it possible. The use of anticoagulants and the discovery of antibiotics helped the surgeons control blood clotting and protect their patients from infections and inflammations.
The use of ultrasound and x-ray technologies made the diagnosis much more available and exact. The diagnosis of the illness at its beginning allows protecting the patient and treating him when the disease or illness is weak and it can be easily cured. This is also one of the most important steps that helped the surgery develop.
Modern surgery has got many advanced and effective techniques that make the operations quite safe and help the patients recover very fast after the operations. The use of the most up to date instruments makes the surgery almost bloodless and highly efficacious.
