How to Keep Track of the Table Tennis Score

Added: 12/19/2005

The establishment on a system of score in table tennis has been already been decided upon. But for the longest time, that wasn't so. As a "gentlemen's game", a typical session on the tables could go on for ever. First, the official games score continued game up to 30, 50 or 100 points. The system of the matches score was unified in 1926. Since that time the set has been conducted up to 21 points.

In the beginning of table tennis, the submissions were made above a head. The way of submissions accepted nowadays is different. The ball goes first on the serving side. For the first time it was found in Hungary where there were very strong players among which the legendary Victor Varn was the champion by amount of ranks of the world champion.

1-2 lessons per week are enough to learn to play table tennis score and to improve the skills within the framework of an amateur level. When you start playing tennis, it is necessary to be ready that the beginners are not allowed to the game at once.

On the other hand, the player should be present at each training necessarily, with the exception for several first lessons. The matter is that in a game situation practically any team member loses 30-40 % of the opportunities, which he shows while training. The reason is simple - tennis as any other game reflects not only a physical opposition of contenders, but also an opposition of their moral - strong-willed qualities. Consequently, on the account it is necessary to play whenever possible and as often as it is possible.

A huge number of training techniques of tennis is now developed. The books and videocassettes include recommendations of eminent trainers. All this, certainly, is very useful, but only as addition to practical lessons with the master.

Each table tennis score begins with the point submission. The first submission is always carried out to the right of the central line. The player, standing up behind a back line, should throw a ball in diagonal opposite field of the partner. If the ball gets to a line of submission or in a net, the miss appears and the player has the right for the second submission. If it ends with a miss then the point is given to the opponent by the official games score.

The transition of serve (when the accepting player or the pair becomes submitting and on the contrary) occurs through every two points. It lasts up to the end of set or until each contender gets ten points. Otherwise, the rule of acceleration of game will not be entered. In this case, the table tennis score gives only one point for transition.

To win the game it is necessary for a tennis player to win four points. As a consequence, his advantage above the contender should be two and more points in table tennis score. Contenders begin the game at score 0:0. Modern calculation of points and matches score in a game has appeared in France. At loss of point, the tennis player threw the coin of 10 and 15 sou on half of court of the contender. For a victory in a set, it is necessary to win six games, thus the advantage above the contender should be two and more games. At the score 6:6, the players play a thaw - break - an additional game in which for a victory it is necessary to get 7 points.

The tennis set is over when one of players has 11 points. After each set, the players change the sides and sequence of submissions. Game consists of five or seven sets. Until September 1, 2001, the number of sets was three or five.
