One of the great Hollywood legendary producers is Jim Henson. His full name is James Maury "Jim" Henson. He was born in September, 1936 and died in May, 1990. In the modern American television history he is one of the most important puppeteers. Also he was a film producer, a filmmaker. He founded The Jim Henson Company, Jim Henson's Creature Shop and the Jim Henson Foundation.
This legendary producer was born in Greenville, Mississippi. At the age of 18, while studying at high school, Jim Henson began to create puppets for WTOP-TV for a children's show. He created Sam and Friends (a short puppet show for TV channel) in 1955, despite his study at the University. Those puppets were the first recognizable Muppets. Muppets made him one of the legendary producers, after the success of Sam and Friends, the Muppets appeared as guests in a variety of different talk shows. In 1963, Jim and his wife decided to move to the New York City.
In 1964, Jim Henson began to try film-making. His first short-time film, which is called "Time Piece," was nominated for Live Action Short Film.
The Muppet show ended its existence after 5 years on TV, but the characters of Muppet Show appeared in different long-time movies. One song from the Muppet Movie (musical film) was even nominated for an Oscar.
Another great representative of legendary producers is Stanley Kubrick. He was an American film director and producer. He used some special film effects, such as extensive zooms and long tracking shots, the combination of classical and pop music, which later became his trademarks. Most of his films were adapted from various literary sources.
He did not like to discuss his personal matters publicly and that's why he was rarely seen in public places. He has a reputation of being a reclusive genius. He produced some documentary short films: "Flying Padre," "Day of the Fight," "The Seafarers." There are also a great number of feature films he produced, the most popular of them are: "Rear and Desire," "Path of glory," "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb," "Eyes Wide Shut." One his films, which is called "A.I.: Artificial Intelligence" was finished by Steven Spielberg.
