History of Australian football clubs

Added: 02/20/2006

Australian football teams consist of very strong players. Last year Australia left the Oceanian Football Confederation to join the Asian football Confederation. Let us see what has changed in the Australian football clubs since then and make an Australian football clubs review. How have they been playing since then? And who are the champions?

Australian football teams have changed their membership in the Football Confederation. Many sports reporters are of the opinion that this was a positive change. Australian football clubs traditionally have been quite strong. But it is evident that to become stronger, a team needs professional rivals. This is what Australian football clubs could not brag about. Australian teams won Samoan teams and scored 31:0. There was another game with the Tonga team, and Australian football players scored 22:0. It was evident for players and football fans that something must have changed. Leaving Oceanian Football Confederation, Australian football clubs hoped to get stronger and more professional in the Asian Football Confederation. On the other hand, changes happened in the Oceanian Football Confederation. Some years ago, there was the only leader which could not be beat - that is the Australian football team. Now the position of the leader is vacant, so some teams have got a chance to become new football stars. The problem of Australian teams was that they easily won regional competitions, but then showed uninteresting game with teams from other continents. Now, having strong rivals, Australian football teams will have to work harder to get to the World Football Championship. That is a positive change for the Australian football in general.

The Australian football clubs review must feature such famous teams as "Kangaroos", "Sidney Swans", "Port Adelaide Power" and others. These are quite strong and popular teams. Australian football league clubs include "Collingwood Magpies", "Essendon Bombers", "Brisbane Lions" and others. These teams are known for their strong professional players, who wok hard to achieve success.

The Australian football has a long history. Australians have played football since the end of the 19th century. But being located so far from the rest of the world, Australian football players had little chance to compete with teams from other countries: during the 1950ies they played only several games with foreign teams. The first serious competition, in which Australian football clubs participated, was held long after the end of the World War II. But today Australia is a strong rival for any country. There is a woman football team; children play lots of football. Nothing else in Australia is as popular as Australian football. There are lots of funs, so, Australian football players receive much support and lots of fans.

Many Australian players, who grew up in Australian football clubs, now play for the best teams in different countries of the world. Many of them partook in important games and serious competitions.

These players achieved a lot by being members of the Oceanian Football Confederation. Today everything is going to change. They have a real chance to become new football stars. They have new rivals and need to get to another level of the game. Australian football team will play at the World Cup in Germany in 2006. We hope the Australian team will use its chance and will soon become one of the top players.
