Transcutaneous is one of the numerous methods to remove hair. It is a hair removal system based on the following procedure. First you spread conductive gel on the treated area and attach the adhesive patch to this gel. Electricity passing through the adhesive patch is supposed to travel down the follicle and to damage permanently the hair follicle. Promoters of transcutaneous hair removal claim that the electrified adhesive patch can remove hair forever, but still there is no scientific proof of that.

Transcutaneous (also referred to as "transdermal") methods can result in permanent hair removal. However, there is still no published clinical data to support the statement. This hair removal system works in the following way: a patch or probe is placed into a gel to transmit galvanic current through the skin. When the current reaches hair follicles, it triggers the chemical reaction aimed at destroying hair germinative cells.
