Threading is a hair removal technique, which is called khite in Arabic and fatlah in Egyptian. In the West this method is not very popular and is primarily used for removal facial hair. Rows of stray hair are pulled out with twists of the cotton thread. The practitioner holds one end of the cotton thread in his or her teeth, the other end in the left hand and the middle of the thread is looped through the index and middle fingers of the right hand. The practitioner uses a loop to trap unwanted hair to pull them out of the skin. There are also special devices that can hold the thread while the procedure.

Threading is another method of hair removal. Thanks to this method it is possible to remove unwanted facial hair from skin, which is too sensitive for waxing or laser. Threading hair is the Middle Eastern method, which plucks hair at the root by means of twisted piece of thread. As this method does not use any chemicals, it will not cause any reaction. The procedure of eyebrow threading takes about 15 minutes.
