Green designers specialists take care of environment

Green designers specialists can be called environment architects. They are creating the buildings which are safe both for their inhabitants and for the surrounding world in general. The work of green designers includes three important elements which deal with energy efficient materials and design, sustainable and recycled as well as healthier materials.
There are a lot of environmental buzzwords today. 'Green design' is one of them. It is rather difficult to give an exact definition of the notion. Who are green designers specialists? What do they do? Are they engaged in urban planning? Can they be called environmental architects? The most common definition tells that green designers specialists are those who create buildings in an attempt to lessen the negative impact on the environment. In general, green designers specialists are engaged in creating homes and different structures that are designed to reduce environment impact on the inhabitants of the building and the surrounding world. The work of green designers specialists includes three obligatory elements. They are as follows. The first element is called energy efficient materials and design. One of the most important items in green design is energy conservation. There are a lot of ways to achieve this goal. For example, the building can be located in such a place so that it could take advantage of the natural heating of the sun which is also called passive sun energy. In order to provide perfect insulation to the house, it is necessary to make thicker walls, air-tight doors and windows. High-quality bulbs and fixtures can be used in order to grasp the light and promote electricity-saving. As for the cooling and heating systems, it is possible to use some new technologies for them, such as high-quality motors and heat exchangers. It is relevant to mention the fact that the elements of the design reduce the need of climate control. That is why the use of the systems would be excessive. The second obligatory element of the green design is called sustainable and recycled materials. Most of the homes have been built from highly unsustainable materials, such as non-renewable ores and minerals, forest-derived products and petroleum-based plastics. As for green design, it aims at introducing sustainabley produced and recycled alternatives to the materials used before. This concept is able to cover everything from the walls made from straw, mud or old bottles to the furniture made of bamboo and some other plantation woods that grow fast. The third element of green design is no less important than the two previous. They are characterized as healthier materials. Much attention is devoted to the materials used for house interiors. Most modern materials are made from pressed types of composite woods or from different chemicals. They are used from synthetic carpeting to cabinetry. It happens that when aging the materials start emitting some quantities of toxic fumes. The process is usually called off- or out- gassing. Due to the off-gassing green designers employ natural products to keep the indoor air healthy and clean. Non-toxic materials, no- or low-fume stains and paints, untreated fabrics, natural fibers and solid woods are considered to be healthier and safer resources, which should replace the traditional materials to avoid chemical hazards.
