givenchi fragrances have established themselves on the perfume market

Added: 12/20/2005

Givenchi fragrances are firm favorites among both men and women. The secret of the irresistible charm of givenchi eau de toilette for women is the fact that it accentuates exactly the features that are most attractive in women for men - the tenderness and delicacy of a feminine nature. Givenchi eau de parfum sprays create an invisible aromatic cloud that can actually influence our perception of the world and of ourselves.

Givenchy is a line of clothing, accessories, perfumes and cosmetics. Givenchi fragrances was founded by designer Hubert de Givenchy. In 1957, Hubert de Givenchy made the headlines by using Hepburn to promote his first perfume L’Interdit, as well as Givenchi eau de parfum sprays and Givenchi eau de toilette for women. It was the first time that an actress had allowed her face to be used in perfumery. Success was enormous, with the American market immediately won over. This was when the designer’s clientele became almost exclusively Anglo-Saxon. Having delayed launching licences on the advice of his friend and mentor, the legendary designer Crist?bal Balenciaga, Hubert de Givenchy made up his mind to do so in the seventies, to ensure the lasting nature of his costly haute couture and Givenchi fragrances collections. The house’s diversification then happened quite naturally with the designer running his aesthete’s eye over Givenchi eau de parfum sprays and Givenchi eau de toilette for women collections; of table linen, furnishing fabrics, shoes, jewellery and even, in 1976, a car: Ford’s Lincoln Continental. Givenchi retired in 1995. John Galliano succeeded him as designer, but his tenure was short, as he was replaced by Alexander McQueen. In 2001, designer Julien McDonald was appointed Artistic Director for the women's lines, as well as for Givenchi eau de parfum sprays and for Givenchi eau de toilette for women. In 2003 Ozwald Boateng was appointed the designer for the men's range of Givenchi fragrances. Clothing lines include haute couture as well as ready-to-wear men's and women's fashions. The reigns for both haute couture and women's ready-to-wear were ultimately passed on to Riccardo Tisci in 2005 when he was named chief designer of womenswear. A graduate of London's Central Saint Martin's Academy (fellow alums include Alexander McQueen, John Galliano of Dior women's, Stella McCartney, and Phoebe Philo of Chloe), Tisci's apparent fascination with gothic touches--dark, languid dresses on sickly models for fall couture--and space-age minimalism--one ready-to-wear show featured white-clad models drifting aimlessly around a sterile-white sphere--have drawn new attention to the brand. Reviews and output of Givenchi fragrances so far have been mixed and inconsistent, but many, including influential fashion critics (such as Cathy Horyn of the New York Times and Suzy Menkes of the International Herald Tribune) have honed in on Tisci's conceptual leanings to Givenchi eau de parfum sprays and Givenchi eau de toilette for women. Tisci's future potential for revitalizing the Givenchy brand and infusing it with his precision and imagination was deemed promising. Thanks to his efforts, Givenchy is a member of Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture et du Pret-a-Porter. Like Dior, the company is owned by the European luxury goods giant, LVMH. In 1993, Givenchy achieved a total sales worth of $176 million, Givenchi fragrances inclusive, making it the second largest apparel division of LVMH after Dior. Givenchi eau de parfum sprays are a great solution for people with active lifestyle. As far as Givenchi eau de toilette for women is concerned, is enhances a women's delicacy and tenderness, thus bringing forth and accentuating her feminine nature. Givenchi fragrances have held the lead on the perfumes market and topped the charts of popular and fashionable perfumes trend.
