On June 14th 997 it won the championship of Spain, but on May 20th 1998, the team came in seventh place in the European Cup.
Last year this club got an official confirmation from FIFA that "Real Madrid" was called the best club in the history of the football.
Thus, the soccer is very popular in Europe. Nowadays there are many European soccer clubs. The most popular European soccer clubs are "Chelsea" and "Real Madrid". Both of them were created in the beginning of the previous century. They have interesting story with its victories and defeats. One should say that "Real Madrid" was called by FIFA the best club in the history of the football.
