Famous Actors and Politics

What is it about actors and politics? What is it about acting that makes actors think they have even the remotest skill, upbringing or talent to enter the world of politics and come out on top of it? There's something seriously wrong with the country when they choose their political leaders base on their box office success. Acting gives actors a recognizable voice, but is it a voice that is qualified to lead a country or county? Just ask Jessie Ventura or Arnold Schwarzenegger. Apparently they aren't doing any better than their predecessors but they aren't doing any worse either.

Actors are often involved in politics. For example, Charlton Heston and Arnold Schwarzenegger, they used to be actors, after that became politicians. Then they became actors again. Thus, actors and politics are interconnected. Just ask Ronald Regan.

The world of politics may be the corner stone of our very existence. The most popular subject under discussion on TV, radio or newspapers is politics. People, who are involved in politics and make political decisions, are politicians. Politicians apparently have a lot in common with actors. Otherwise actors and politics wouldn't b such a common pairing.

As a rule, an individual, who wants to become a politician should complete studies at school, then enter an Institute of higher education, and intern with a political party. Usually, the decision to enter the world of politics starts early and is fostered throughout high school and college. But there are many cases, when a man or woman doesn't have any plans to connect his or her further life with politics, but some reasons (for example, popularity or something else) compel them to be politicians.

Actors and politics are interconnected things. For example, Charlton Heston. He was born in 1923, in Illinois. His grandfather was born in England. When he was 10, his parents divorced and with mother and his stepfather he settled in Illinois. Charlton Heston`s first professional movie, which is called Dark City, was produced in 1950. Charlton Heston was also an activist of civil rights. He was invited by democrats to the California State Senate, but he rejected because he wanted to stay in art. But later, in 1980, he began to support conservative parties, especially in issues of gun rights and affirmative action.

Charlton Heston is National Rifle Association honorary life member and from 1998 to 2003, and until his resignation, he was even its president.

Charlton Heston is one of those people whose name is connected to actors and politics who made an important contribution to both the politics and the art of cinema. Here is the incomplete list of his most famous and greatest roles in movies that he played from 1950 to 2000: "Dark City", "Pony Express", "Planet of the Apes", "The Agony and the Ecstasy", "The Ten Commandments".

Likewise, another mega-talent linked to actors and politics is Arnold Schwarzenegger. The "Austrian Oak" was born on July 30th, 1947. Arnold became a U. S. citizen in 1983. Before that he had worked in England and, in 1965 he moved to the USA.

He achieved fame as a bodybuilder at first. Because of his phenomenal physical achievements he won such titles as Junior Mr. Europe, Mr. World, IFBB Mr. Universe, NABBA Mr. Universe (4 times), and Mr. Olympia (7 times, 1970-1975 and 1980).

His acting career spans several genres and consists of the many movies. The most popular characters he played are: Terminator (from Terminator 1 and 2), Conan (from Conan movies) among many other characters.

He is a Republican and that is unusual for the predominantly Hollywood Democratic community, but in spite of that fact, Arnold Schwarzenegger is the Governor of California. This fact shows that everyone who has fame, money and wants to do his best to represent America has a good chance to get such honorable position.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Charlton Heston are probably better actors than they are politicians. But in a world of actors and politics, they won't be the last.
