There are two bone infections types. They are mild bone infection and severe bone infection. The difference between the two infection types consists in the fact that the former does not destroy the bone's structural integrity. As for the latter, it does, and weakens the bone to such an extent that it finally breaks. Using drainage, which is a long duration treatment performed through the sinus tract, can even cause cancer eventually.

The other name of bone infection is osteomyelitis. The infection can develop both in children and adults. The most common bone infections treatment is antibiotics introduced intravenously or orally. More severe cases require operations. Before prescribing the treatment the doctor has to make X-rays to the patient. Nevertheless, bone infection at the early stages is not visible.
