Sexual addiction which is also known as "sexual compulsion" can represent a serious problem. Although there is no special medical description of this problem it is usually referred to as addiction to sexual intercourse (or sometimes other sexual behavior). Another problem is that symptoms of sexual addiction are pretty similar to other kinds of addictions and mental disorders.

Sexual addiction is a constant sexual desire which can be rarely satisfied despite many sexual encounters and a great number of partners. Sexual addiction that often causes trouble is hypersexuality. With men this phenomenon is called satyriasis, and with women - nymphomania. The symptoms of sexual addiction are: no attraction to a definite person; only the physiological need is satisfied, without feelings and psychological elements.
