The consumption of any psychoactive substance causes a condition called acute intoxication. It involves a specific disturbance of the level of cognitive behavior, consciousness, perception, affect, judgment or other functions and responses operated in the brain. Acute intoxication passes with time but constant use of psychoactive substances present a certain risk of acute withdrawal potential and the risk of addiction.
