Presently the most famous genre of the music is popular music, or pop. It is available in most countries. In general pop music is cauterized by substitution of live musical instruments by electronic ones, the programmed firm repeated rhythms and vocals, light memorable melodies and lyrics. This genre appeared by far in 60s and now it is mixed with different other genres and trends: rock-and-roll, disco, rhythm and blues, gospel and many others. This mixture of different styles makes the modern pop music more emotional and diverse, especially US pop music, because of its multi-natural culture.
Of course, the variety of US art made a great impact on the development of pop music world wide. The phenomenon of US girl groups that appeared in great numbers brought their own philosophy in modern music. Such names as TLC, En Vogue, 3LW, Nobody's Angel, and others are enjoyed by public both American and foreign, even if many of them stopped working together. One of the most famous between US girl groups is Destiny's Child, which is known by those who have any interest in pop music.
Destiny's Child is the most scandalous and changeable from US girl groups. Maybe this fact gave them more popularity. But, of course, these extremely gifted girls with rich and deep voices of Afro-American style, together with their unique sound of songs cannot leave the public indifferent. They began to sing and rap in 1990 in really tender ages in their native Texas. Their pre-teen ages and talents earned much love of the local public.
They grew up and developed their own style. In 1997, the group signed their first contract with the Columbia Record Company. The first release Killing Time appeared in 1999 and they became famous beyond the bounds of the state and even internationally. The multi-platinum second album The Writing's On the Wall became even more popular.
Unbelievable success of their first songs gave them great experience and aspiration for working further, but unfortunately, quarrels and desire of the girls for solo performing made many changes inside the group. Participants were always changed, that was followed by scandals in press and trials. After 4 millions of CDs sold all over the world the girls stopped working together for some time. But in 2001, they decided to release the next album with the name Survivor that described the real state of affairs.
The album was a great success that no one among US girl groups with R&B trends had before. The album entered the charts as number one and was taking this place for a long time. But in spite of such a great success, the girls looked for independence. All three members of the group have their own solo albums and endeavor to perform separately. Not too long ago they announced about splitting.
Undoubtedly, show business has its own rules. And those who score a success know the real value of it. But the popularity and love of the public to this or that performer are never accidental or unworthy. Talents, beauty, intelligence, wonderful personality and, of course, much hard work - all these play the first role in the road to fame.
