One of the special areas of stomatology, studies the structure, physiology and pathology of the pulp and the tissues surrounding the root of a tooth. It enables people to keep their own teeth for as long as possible. Serious root canal problems can only be resolved with root canal treatment.
Endodontics concerns itself with the complex disciplines of stomatology and demands especially great skill. Competent treatment of root canal problems is a very complex and responsible undertaking. The safety of the tooth and success of the further restoration of the tooth depends entirely on its quality (a seal, bridges, artificial limbs).
The sealing of channels is carried out by gutta-percha rubber sealant and thermopiles. It is a special grade of rubber. Gutta-percha does not dissolve over time. Moreover, once the hollow channel is sealed, it remains densely closed for the rest of your life. It is very important in way of preventive maintenance of a secondary infection.
In the channels of teeth, there is a soft tissue, and a pulp or nerve. Inflammation of any of these areas will lead to a sharp toothache. Science has proven, that it happened when the pulp is infected with bacterias, i.e. bacteria enters inside carious cavities under bad (that is not tight) seals and reaches the nerve. Strong pain arises because the tooth is infected with bacterias and harmful substances (toxins) in the carious cavities.
The inflammation of a nerve typically progresses quickly; when the infection is distributed on periodontal tissues (periodontium). Inflammation of periodontium will give the patient constant whining pains and a sharp pain at bite. This long inflammation leads to more serious root canal problems and as a result of granuloma or cyst forms. As the chronic center of an infection during such processes, the bacteria torture the whole body. As you can see, root canal problems lead to diseases of heart, vessels, a liver, kidneys, etc.
There are two ways to cure a tooth and the body from an infection: treatment of root canal problems or removal of the tooth itself. The competent approach and observance of all technologies allow treating successfully dental infections through channels in 80-90 % of cases. The rest of problems demands the surgical treatment (a resection of a top of a root) if conservative methods did not give desirable result. And it goes without saying, that one of the most economic methods of root canal treatment is to tie one end of a piece of string around the tooth, and tie the other end of the string on the door knob of an open door. On the count of three, slam the door. Upon impact, the tooth will be yanked out and the patient will suffer no more root canal problems.
Do all people have cavities? Action of the bacteria in dental plaque is not the same for all people. In the majority of people, the resistance to cavities is expressed poorly. At others, it is high enough. Stability of teeth to cavities is related to the condition of a person's immune system and its ability to fight disease. Weakened immunity promotes active development of cavities. Cavities develop in 1.5 to 2 times more often in children suffering from exudative diathesis and rickets.
The important role belongs to structure and properties of saliva. It is established, saliva is more viscous, and the ratio of mineral salts is changed in people with cavities. Destruction of a tooth results in infringement of digestion and makes a risk factor for development of diseases of gastrointestinal tract.
