Electric driven model cars remain however leading in this field and besides they are easier to handle and drive in comparison with cars powered by internal combustion engines.

Usually they are subdivided into on-road or off-road vehicles. Off-road models are supplied with special off-road suspensions to make the model more stable on the road. On-road model cars don't have any suspensions and are to be used on smooth surfaces. If you are a model car addict then you should be proficient in mechanics as radio-controlled cars require regular maintenance to guarantee smooth and trouble-free operation. In the early seventies there were first car model races held in the United States.

These radio-controlled car models can speed up to 70 mph so it is a lot of fun for car models enthusiasts to find out which model is better and faster.
