Clinique makeup was launched by Est?e Lauder Inc. in 1968 as the first dermatologist-guided, allergy tested, and fragrance free cosmetic brand. It is clinique face makeup that is renowned for not only the pronounced decorative effect of the cosmetic products but also their healing properties. Besides, clinique make up accessories are widely used and very much appreciated by professional make up artists.

The Estee Lauder Companies, Inc. engages in the manufacture, marketing, and sale of skin care, clinique makeup, fragrance, and hair care products worldwide. It also licenses fragrances and cosmetics sold under various brands. Its skin care products include moisturizers, creams, lotions, cleansers, sun screens, and self-tanning products for women and men. The Clinique make up acessories comprise lipsticks, mascaras, foundations, eyeshadows, nail polishes, and powders, as well as compacts, brushes, and other makeup tools. Clinique was at the stert different from most cosmetic companies in that its goal was to meet individual skin care needs by categorizing skin types. Clinique was originally based on the 3-Step Skin Care System (often abbreviated to simply 3-Step), which is a system of skin care based on cleansing via Clinique make up, exfoliating by a toner branded as "Clarifying Lotion", and moisturizing with the "Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion". Since Clinique face make up categorizes skin types, the elements in all three steps of the 3-Step System are tailored for these different types. For example, the "combination" skin type uses the "mild" soap and toner strength "2". 3-Step is still central to the Clinique make up brand. At each of their cosmetic counters, Clinique consultants interact with customers and use a specially designed "Clinique Computer" to find out the customer's skin type (dry, combination, or oily) and provide Clinique make up acessories that will best suit the customer's needs. Clinique make up has adapted the 3-Step system for men, too, replacing the toner with a "Scruffing Lotion". Clinique make up acessories' line has expanded, and now includes additional skin care products, makeup and cosmetics, fragrance, haircare, and men's products. Clinique face make up also has a facial care line called "CX", designed for men and women who suffer from Rosacea. Clinique is marketing a range of skin care products, that are absorbed deeper into the skin than more traditional treatments because of the far smaller size of their particles. Clinique make up use of nanotechnology, originally employed in man-made fibres and pharmaceuticals, aim to discover what effect the minute particles may have if they enter cells in the human body or leach into the bloodstream. Cosmetics market is growing at about 10% a year and the company believes that nanotechnology will help to create a new generation of Clinique face make up. Within the next few years they hope that it may provide methods to prevent the greying of hair and even baldness. Estee Lauder Inc., one of the world's largest cosmetics companies, is devoting much of its research budget to nanotechnology, which it believes offers great potential for slowing the effect of age on the skin. Clinique face make up, described by the company as containing "nanosomes of Pro-Retinol A", claims to offer an "immediate lifting effect". Clinique face make up is intentionally positioning itself as rather expensive, but perfect quality products. It can't be claimed that Clinique make up enjoys universal popularity, but it is definitely moving in that direction. Clinique makeup is also very appealing due to the fact that it is rater easy to access and to obtain though a very intricately organized network of dealers and consultants.
