Oral cancer is a neoplastic formation which is caused due to uncontrolled deletion of cells due to mutation of genes. Mutated genes cause the cells to grow and spread at an uncontrolled rate. In cancer cells programmed death of cell or apoptosis is absent which makes the cells to divide and proliferate at an uncontrolled rate. Usually certain classes of genes are responsible for cancer cells. When the genes of the cell are mutated it can convey the traits of the cell to the daughter cells, which is termed as progression of tumor cells.
