A Viniyoga Description Review

Added: 03/20/2006

In our brief viniyoga description some facts that distinguish viniyoga from other yoga types will be observed. T K V Desikachar is the current lineage holder of viniyoga. Our practice supports growth in youth and as we age, gentle flow of viniyoga should maintain and promote our stability and health. The connection with the teacher is essential to create effective individual practices that will make easier those changing needs.

Our viniyoga description begins with some explanation. Viniyoga is a word in the beginning used to characterize the T K V Desikachar yoga style (in the descent of T. Krishnamacharya). It is very interesting that Desikachar later outstripped himself from that word. Generally, the name is referred to give emphasis to the fact that practice of yoga should be adapted to fit the particular situation and individuality of each practitioner.

Our brief viniyoga description and review is preceded with some facts about yoga therapy. It is well known fact that yoga can make a payment in many methods to good state of health. Some of the best known advantages include:

      - increasing flexibility, balance and strength

      - reducing stress

      - helping to manage neck and back pain

It is less good known fact that the yoga therapeutic use for a full variety of health disturbances and diseases has had a successful and long history, particularly in the East.

Yoga Therapy is based on the tradition of the Ayurvedic and Patanjali system of health.
It's very interesting that yoga therapy cures the whole individual, not only the disease. That fact is based on the well known fact that, despite the undisputed value and success of modern medicine, most curing results from the natural recuperative powers and remarkable resiliency of the body. The immune system and recuperative powers of the body can be inhibited or supported by our attitudes and behavior. Yoga Therapy seeks to correct and identify unhealthy conditioning and habits.

This could be as simple as making better your posture or as difficult as curing a relationship. There are such cases when the underlying disease can't be treated, still yoga therapy can provide a helpful contribution to the spiritual, emotional and physical health of the person.

Some words in our viniyoga description about its difference from other yoga's types. Viniyoga describes the yoga elements integration to develop a practice or exercises definite to the needs of individual. There are several elements that differs Viniyoga from other yoga's styles: the emphasis of linking movement and breath, and the adaptations in asana (postures) use and also gentle flow.

Movement and breath are linked together as a method to move the physical body and quiet the mind. Students are learned that the breath have to actually lead the body out and into of each posture in Viniyoga. As you may know, viniyoga is less referred to difficult precise practice than with developing an appropriate and balanced practice for each individual.

Viniyoga inspires students to carry out each asana accordingly to their personal capabilities and needs. As a result, adaptations to put up unique physical circumstances of person are used to assist the function of the pose over the form. Depending on the spiritual and emotional needs of the person, ritual, chanting, prayer, and meditation can be integrated into practice of each individual to enrich their lives and deepen their yogic practice.

Thus, in our brief viniyoga description some interesting facts were observed.
