Assisted Reproductive Technologies - ART Limitations and Benefits

Modern assisted reproductive technologies help thousand childless pairs to become parents. In the twentieth century, male and female barrenness has ceased to be a terrible verdict. However, if the woman has serious problems with health, the majority of doctors urgently advise to pass a rate of the general therapy before to plan approach of pregnancy. AIDS, venereal diseases in an active stage, cancer of 3 and 4 degrees, absence of ovaries and uterus, or congenital absence of vagina concerns to a number of absolute ART limitations. Nevertheless, in case of absence of uterus, ovary or vaginas doctors recommend to take advantage of services of substitute mother and donor's ootid.

For men practically ART limitations do not exist. A man can become a father at any age. The main requirement for this purpose is the presence of healthy and viable spermatozoa. However, at presence of similar ART limitations if the woman is healthy and has no pathologists of reproductive system, it is possible to take advantage of donor sperm.

Donor sperm is stored in a special bank of sperm in the frozen kind. To men who hand over seed liquid in a bank of sperm, age limit and health limit make great demands very much. A man can become a donor at the age of from 20 till 40 years. Before handing over sperm, every man should pass careful inspection on presence of infections and venereal diseases. Besides one of obligatory conditions for delivery of sperm is presence at the donor of the healthy child.

It is necessary to note also that the name of the donor of the semen liquid remains anonymous. Observance of this condition is one of obligatory conditions for all donors and patients of reproduction at the human donation centers.
