When it comes to bouquet arrangement you should follow certain rules. It is not an easy task to choose appropriate colors, shapes and flowers but we have some guidelines to help you get started. There are different floral arrangements. If you prefer a triangular arrangement, then the back should be flat, the front and sides should catch most attention. Not only are the flowers important, but much depends on the vase, too. If you want to create a beautiful floral arrangement, the height of your composition should not exceed 1.5 feet above the height of the vase. We recommend that you start your composition with long elements - ferns, twigs, long seed heads and strong spiked flowers.
Regardless of the floral arrangement type your composition should have an effect of depth. You can give necessary depth by placing the shorter pieces at the front and longer pieces at the back. Larkspur would be good for longer pieces of the composition. Also we recommend adding materials that will create a "filling effect," such as achillea, hortensia, statice and tansy. The height of these decorations should not exceed half the size of the main flowers bouquet. Of course, the center of the arrangement should be given to the most beautiful flowers to catch the eye of people. The only requirement is that they should correspond to the basic colors of the composition. Thus, if the basic color is blue in your composition, you may use elelweiss.
It is also very important to keep the arrangement well balanced. We don't recommend placing large and heavy flowers on one side and more tender flowers on the other side. Creating balance is not creating something mirror-like - you should try to get your flowers bouquet balanced without perfect symmetry. The more flowers that participate in the arrangement the easier you can maintain the shape. If you want to lengthen the stems of decorative flowers you can attach wires to their ends. Besides a triangular floral arrangement, there are other arrangements with slightly different ideas about how to make them look better.
If you prefer an oval or round arrangement the rules described above can be applied also but you can accentuate the filling material and decorative flowers. If you like a roundish flowers bouquet then try to make the flowers look like they are growing out of their vase. Smaller flowers can be tied into bunches to bring more shape to the arrangement. It is necessary to overburden your composition with too many colors. Simplicity in the color scheme is a key to your floral arrangement beauty and appeal.
Yellow should be combined with orange, and if blue colors prevail in your arrangement then hot colors are undesirable. It is also very important to choose a corresponding vase. You can try a lot of vases to match with the main idea of your floral arrangement. There are sherry glasses, gravy boats, copper kettles, clay water pitchers and of course baskets that will bring a lot of coziness to your floral composition. No matter what flowers bouquet you want to arrange - either a whimsical bouquet, or a classic bouquet, you can get professional florist to create it for you.
