It pays to say that a variety of means created by the human-being is based on experience, centuries, accumulated within the framework of primitive technical equipment, and in conditions of manual skills. Times changed each other, the consciousness of the human-being and his intelligence was gradually growing, and the wide experience of predecessors pushed people to the invention of new ways and tools for improvement of health and prolongation of life. The human-being has learnt to invent and use surgical tools and has achieved huge heights in this business. Intelligent microsurgical instruments have pressed simple surgical tools, such as a scalpel and tweezers, having turned in irreplaceable assistants in hands of skilled surgeons.

Operations with the use of intelligent microsurgical instruments can be named a new technology. And as a whole, manufacture and use of intelligent microsurgical instruments intensively has been developing for 20 years. In the 80s years the opportunity to create intelligent microsurgical instruments appeared and they began to use them in various kinds of surgery. Many surgeons have already estimated advantages of intelligent microsurgical instruments. One of the advantages of intelligent microsurgical instruments is that it is an active handheld microsurgical instrument. First intelligent microsurgical instruments applied at the cavity`s operations, for example, removal of a bilious bubble or an appendix. Advantages of technologies are conclusive. These are the operations held with the help of the special equipment, such as endoscope and the fibre-optical tool.



Endoscope is a tiny video camera with the powerful increase. With the help of a thin directing tubule through very small cut the optics and tools are entered in the necessary area. From the side such operations look rather unusual. The surgeons attentively look at the monitor, which is located sideways, instead of the direct zone of work. Thus, they use completely special, "long" tools, and their movements are consequently hardly appreciable. Sometimes this technology is even called "the discharged surgery". That`s exactly one of its main pluses. From a line of a cut up to the zone of the operation there can be rather big distance - up to 15 centimeters. And consequently the seam can be hidden reliably, having made it practically imperceptible.



The course of operation is supervised on a video monitor. All process goes under the big increase, and the doctor perfectly sees each movement. On the special screen of the monitor, before the doctor, there is a picture perfectly covered with fields of activity. Each small vessel is swept up almost bloodlessly during the operation. Accordingly, puffiness after such operations is smaller, than traditionally, and bruises do not remain at all. Due to this, in 2-5 day, depending on the volume of operation, the patient comes back to the usual way of life. The British researchers have developed the new concept in intelligent microsurgical instruments. So-called " fractal robots " will be capable to be built independently for performance of the necessary actions in this or that situation.



ROBOT Fractal Surgeon, which will be applied to bloodless surgical operations, can serve one of examples. The robot will consist of modules in the size no more than 1cub.mm. It will penetrate into a body of the person through an aperture of 2 mm and in the necessary place to gather in the required surgical tool.



One of the advantages of "fractal surgeries" is an opportunity of simultaneous work of several robots in a body of one patient. For example, the wound is one of the heaviest and to take each splinterout of a person, the surgeon needs a lot of time. Robots can independently find out alien bodies and work above their removal. They can also establish on the place fragments of bones and fix them within several days. Such robots are able to take care about themselves too. The system of self-restoration will not allow any alien body in an organism any more. Researchers intend to create a working sample of "fractal surgeon" in the nearest years.
