A brief Bikram Yoga Review

Added: 03/15/2006

The Bikram Yoga review starts from the who and where it was actually invented. Its founder is Bikram Choudhury, who learned Yoga practices with the expert assistance of Bishnu Ghosh, famous Paramahansa Yogananda's brother. Later, Bikram Choudhury's own Yoga concept was named after its founder. That system includes a series of the Bikram yoga postures - the exercises are not numerous but quite hard to accomplish.

Bikram yoga is a series of twenty-six postures performed in a special studio where the air must be heated up to around ninety degrees Fahrenheit. All Bikram Yoga Postures are normally performed two times and held still for a specific period of time. Bikram Choudhury's Yoga Sessions begin from the so-called Standing Postures, followed by the Backward Bends, Forward Bends, and later the Twists. All of the Bikram Yoga Postures are combined with what Yogis call Kapalabhati Breathing, or the "breathing of fire".

We have to make an excuse that Bikram yoga postures, as well Bikram yoga pranayamas, which became notoriously known throughout the whole world, will not, alas, be paid the amount of attention they surely deserve, due to the limited volume of the current article.

In our Bikram yoga review we are proud to underline and stress that Bikram Choudhury began studying Hatha yoga postures in his native land of India at the age of three, which may seem surprisingly early for a Westerner. At the age of five, he started studying under the wise guidance of the famed guru Bishnu Ghosh, and very rapidly became a champion in Yoga competitions. At the age of eleven, Bikram Choudhury was the youngest Yogi practitioner ever to win the famous National Indian Yoga Competition.

At the age of fourteen, Swami Shivananda, a world-known Yoga master, declared him as Yogi Raj, or the King of the Yogis. At the age of twenty, a weightlifting accident heavily harmed and crippled the daring Bikram. With the priceless guidance of his experienced guru, Bikram then created his own series of twenty-six Yoga exercises, which managed to restore his damaged health. In a research project at Tokyo University, sponsored by the United Nations, Bikram made the experienced and knowing doctors believe, and he firmly proved that his own philosophy and practices, later called Bikram Yoga, regenerates human body tissues and heals even chronic diseases. He combined eastern disciplines and the traditional Western medicine and thus perfected his own comprehensive method. He even made it accessible for all ages and all stages of physical fitness.

Our Bikram yoga review sees Choudhury's unique method as a complete and wholly self-sufficient system of both mental and physical wellness, restoration of strength and agility, and rejuvenation of human body and spirit. By bringing Bikram yoga postures into your everyday routine life, you cleanse the body and calm your mind. Another caution from the author of this article: a proper Bikram Yoga studio is always very hot (over 100 degrees Fahrenheit) to enable deeper tendon stretching, to prevent probable injuries, to relieve stress and reduce tension, and to detoxify the body of a practitioner. The current Bikram yoga review claims that this unique Yoga system was designed especially to stimulate and recover human health regularly - to every muscle, tendon, every joint and organ in your body. All Bikram yoga review participants are carefully and expertly guided through the unchangeable series of twenty-six postures. Note that the succession was made to increase every posture in terms of physical challenge. Practitioners of all ages feel an uprising in their energy, physical strength, balance, agility and mental concentration. The body is purified of toxins, which leaves a deep sense of satisfaction, relief and well being.
