Abdominal organ transplantation takes today one of the first stairs in general organ transplant review. The prevalent kinds of operations are probably liver transplantation and kidney transplantation. In general it should be said at the beginning a few words about transplants itself.

Well, it is probably for everybody known that transplants are the kind of operation when one organ or some tissues of one person is replaced to the body of the other one. Sometimes the operation takes place in case of one person. It means that some tissues, skin for example, are replaced from one part of the body to another of one person.

People whose organs and tissues are used for transplants are called organ donors. They are usually divided into dead and live donors. Dead donors are available for the transplant of organs that cannot be replaced while the life-time of a person. On the other hand, live donors can become the source for the operation when they are alive and can take place in this process even for several times.

The example for it is the transplant of blood from one person to another. Thousands of people become volunteers in this case for several times and that does not do any harm to their health. It is also possible to become a donor after death and the history knows a great deal of cases when people asked to use their bodies for medical discoveries, experiments and also for transplants..

In general, the history of transplants is very rich and extremely interesting. It includes a great amount of different experiments, successful and awful attempts to replace one or another organ, different interesting case in abdominal organ transplantation for example and so on. First attempts of transplants were made in ancient times. For example, Chinese doctor tried himself in transplants of the heart; another Roman medic was successful in the re-attachment of a leg.

In general, the history of transplants, especially abdominal organ transplantation, does not stop until today's time. There was a great amount of mistakes and bad results, very often fatal as patients frequently died in some hours, days or years after the operation.

It is extremely important also to pay attention to the safety of the conducted operation as sometimes the operation is successful but in some days it turns out that some infection has come into the body; making it impossible to save the life of the patient. Very often such situations can happen in cases of abdominal organ transplantation as well as in other types of transplants.

Apart from organ transplants, we can also talk about transplants of the skin, blood and some other tissues, which are as well complicated and serious. In general while such operations it is very important that the surgeon must be a good specialist and have practice in surgery for a long period of time as while such an operation it is very difficult not to forget about anything important, notice and pay attention to all the factors and gain the success in conducting of the operation.

The number of organ transplants is growing constantly and it is not strange. The quality of such operations is improving with the course f time, well, the patients are sure that the guarantee of successful operation is rather high. More and more people get acquainted with such a kind of surgery and very often become volunteer donors. As it has been said earlier abdominal organ transplants are one of the most frequently used and popular ones and stays almost on the same level with liver transplants and kidney transplants.
