The term “cock-tailed” has appeared in 1769 to denote horses of mixed blood during horse races. The first document, interpreted the definition of «cocktail» dated May, 13th 1806. American magazine «The Balance» describes «cocktail» like «stimulative drink that consists of different strong tipples, sugar, bitter tinctures and water». The first cocktail recipe book was published in 1862. The author of the book was the famous bartender Jerry Tomas. He is considered to be the author of the most famous classic cocktail Martini.
