There is a trend for issuing noiseless video cards with inexpensive processors in the modern industry. The company HIS (Hightech Information System Limited) also joined this approach and announced the first solution of this type. This is a video card on the base of 90 nm chipset ATI X1300. This video accelerator has the name HIS X1300Pro iSilence. This video card works in accordance with its name. There is a silent copper cooling system, iSilence, with double heat tubes.
The new X1300 implementation by HIS includes all technologies and specific features of the X1000 line. The differences are in the increased clock rates for the kernel and memory. The video card supports a two displays connection, a resolution of 2560 x 1600, modes CrossFire and HDTV. The processor X1300 works with a clock of 600 MHz. The video card uses a graphical memory DDR2 with a 128bit interface and a working clock of 800 MHz.
The basic element for these video cards is a micro chip, R520. The whole family is called X1800. There are two simplified modifications ? an average class chip, RV530 (Radeon X1600), and a budget level processor, RV515 (Radeon X1300).
The family Radeon X1800 comprises four video cards. They are the Radeon X1800 XT CrossFire Edition, Radeon X1800 XR, Radeon X1800 Pro and Radeon X1800 XL. These models have sixteen pixel conveyors and they support up to 32 conveyors, which can be implemented. The chips support a 512 digit memory bus. It is twice more than for the GeForce 7800GTX (G70). The clock of the Radeon X1800 XT CrossFire Edition and Radeon X1800XR is 650 MHZ. The clock for the video memory is 1.4 GHz.
The cards of the X1800 family are provided with a video memory GDR3 512 MB that is a usual memory volume for the models of High-End class. Moreover, all the models of the Radeon X1800 family will support the shaders of version 3.0. The top video cards are adapted for the work with the future dominating operation system Windows Vista (a pre-release name is Longhorn). Beta-versions of drivers for this operation system have been already developed.
Average class video cards Radeon X1600 (RV530) contain three modifications: Radeon X1600 XT CrossFire Edition, Radeon X1600 XT and Radeon X1600 Pro. They are different from top models with decreased working clocks, a decreased number of pixel conveyors (up to twelve) and a narrowed memory bus.
Radeon X1300 is a budget series. It is based on the RV515 chip and includes three video cards: Radeon X1300 Pro, Radeon X1300 and Radeon X1300 HyperMemory. The last video card actively uses a system memory for the cadre buffer storing.
ATI is also planning to extend this family of video cards. They are going to implement a support of the CrossFire mode for the chip RV515. Hence, the video cards, based on the Radeon X1300, can be a good solution for the clients with a restricted budget. These products propose a significant performance and clock rates for the memory and graphical processor. These parameters allow achieving a high quality of video images rendering. The Radeon video cards can be great for gamers and professionals as well. You may always rely on ATI, since it can be called the best producer of video accelerators.
