Vodafone 3g - turning science fiction into reality

Added: 05/29/2006

Vodafone, the biggest Cellular Carrier in the world, launched its 3G-mobile phone network a year ago. Now a comparatively new "Third Generation" network has turned a piece of scince fiction into reality. Vodafone's 3 G mobile services with fantastic capabilities are here, they are available now, and they are only on Vodafone. Whether you are using a mobile phone, a PDA or a Vodafone Mobile Connect card in your laptop, 3G lets you do more than ever...

3G, the name of new mobiles and services, is short for the "Third Generation". It is a technology, powering a whole range of new services. Vodafone, a international Cellular Carrier and mobile phone producer, claims that with 3G mobiles are never the same again. You can do more than you ever thought: make real-time two-way video calls, watch Mobile TV on your mobile, play the most awesome games, download full stereo-quality songs. It is all possible with only the Vodafone 3G.

In the past, Vodafone had "voice only" mobiles, known as the first generation. Their "voice only" mobiles were followed by second generation handsets with new smart services like caller ID, TXT and roaming. Then, Vodafone introduced "2,5G" in New Zealand, which added the GPRS data capability to send PXT, connect to Vodafone live and send mobile email. The 3G network lets you do more than ever before.

First, the Vodafone Group, the British corporation, began implementing the Vodafone 3G network in Europe and Japan. Launching of this long-awaited project had been delayed for two years. The total project investment made up about one hundred and thirty billion dollars. Over twenty six countries already have 3G networks, and the Vodafone Group alone has built fifteen of them in the UK, Japan and many European countries. The fate of  the Vodafone 3G project is being watched by all mobile network market insiders. In case the project is a success, the American Cellular Carriers are likely to speed up the development of their own 3G networks.

However, there is a serious competitor for Vodafone 3G in such countries as Great Britain, Italy and Sweden. The Hong Kong corporation Hutchison Whampoa has been representing its 3G services for more than a year. According to the statistics by canalys.com, the major part of sails of 3G mobile phones are from Hutchison telephone subscribers. In Japan the main competitors are NTT DoCoMo and KDDI Cellular Carriers.

You can use your Vodafone Mobile connect card when you travel overseas. As your 3G handsets can work on 2G networks as well, you can use your mobile with the same SIMcard, in the same way and with your same contact list in more than one hundred and thirty countries.

Vodafone 3G network facilities provide you with real products and services that entertain and inform, permit a more effective communication and give you a better way to do business. Vodafone claims that the services now on offer are only a taste of what is yet to come. The Cellular Carrier has plans to expand their 3G coverage and services.

Vodafone produces a wide variety of mobile phones maintaining the 3G network. One of these, which is worth mentioning, is Vodafone VPA IV phone (Vodafone Personal Assistant). It has such specifications as tri-band GSM, UMTS, processor Intel Bulverde 520 MH2, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Qwerty keyboard, VGA display. Vodafone includes their typical 3G/UMTS offering: mobile TV and flat rate browsing in the Vodafone live portal. Vodafone is highly respected among business customers - exactly the people, who would be interested in this superb Pocket PC phone.
