The new level of podcasting.

Added: 06/30/2005

Podcasting is a relatively recent invention allowing people worldwide to listen to a wide variety of internet audio programming. It was impossible before to listen to the chosen favorite shows, scheduling them or downloading them manually. NOW It has become possible!

Podcasting is a way of publishing files to the internet. In 2003, a number of broadcasters started publishing audio online using RSS file format. Podcasting, as a definition, has become popular since 2004 and has previously been used for audio files. The modern podcasting includes sending an audio content from the Internet directly to an iPod or other MP3 player. The modern iPod from Apple Computer's, for instance, allows a listener to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically by subscription and very often for free. Earlier, these possibilities required third-party software.

In June 2005, it became possible to get the universally used iPod. There are 3,000 free audio shows available for podcasting in this new device. Apple keeps the right to edit certain new shows, due to editorial and copyright concerns when accepting it. This technique of podcasting enables independent producers to create self-published, syndicated "radio shows". Nowadays, broadcast radio programs have a new distribution channel and that is meaningful for the new production industries. It is also very convenient for those, who do not have modern or any other kind of iPod, because podcasting is available for any person who has any digital player or computer. The same technique can deliver video files; very soon, the video files will be easily played as well as audio ones.

It really sounds pleasant to know that you have now a possibility to float freely in the midst of the Internet resources, to get information you need faster, to listen to it in audio format without any additional devices and to use a great number of the Internet available sources. Instead of pushing text from blogs and news sites to various content aggregators, like FeedDemon and Bloglines, podcasting sends audio content directly to an iPod or other MP3 player. To get the podcasting service, a user simply connects his MP3 player to their computer, goes online and subscribes to the feeds he wants the podcasting service to provide. The audio content is transferred from the original source to a device and then to the subscriber.

Podcasting brings convenience of choice to the internet audio that was only available to digital video recorder users before. Most of the people of the modern world are always busy and do not often have time to catch their favorite shows. It is very convenient to get notified when a new content is available at one or another show program and have this content automatically downloaded. Later, you may listen to it using any device you have an access to. Furthermore, anyone with an access to the net and a microphone can produce his own broadcast, isn't that intriguing? No more radio-specialized studios, you are free to create your own shows and information programs with minimum expenses. Podcasting truly opens a universe of the new audio content to anyone who wants it at any time. Are you willing to sell anything or communicate through audio? You can also use this technology.
